Research Seminar: Publishing Papers in Comparative Education: A Discussion with the Editor

David Phillips has been editing education journals since 1984. He was editor of the Oxford Review of Education for twenty years and founding editor of Research in Comparative and International Education, and he is now editor of Comparative Education. He also edits the series Oxford Studies in Comparative Education, now approaching its 50th volume. He will talk about what makes a good paper in comparative education and why some papers fail to get published. The session will provide an opportunity for wide discussion on how journals are edited.

David Phillips is Emeritus Professor of Comparative Education at the University of Oxford and an Emeritus Fellow of St Edmund Hall, Oxford. He was the impetus behind the MSc course in Comparative and International Education in Oxford, now in its 23rd year. He has published many books and journal articles, and is both a Fellow of the UK Academy of Social Sciences and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
