Dr. Brian D. Denman
Dr. Brian D. Denman is a senior lecturer at the University of New England in the School of Education in Australia and the immediate past Secretary-General of the World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES), an international organisation consisting of over 40 comparative and international education societies worldwide. His particular areas of expertise include the study of educational systems, educational planning and policy studies, international higher education policy, and comparative education research.
Dr. Liz Jackson
Liz Jackson is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong and Deputy Director for its Master of Education Programme. She is Editor of Review of Contemporary Philosophy and Associate Editor of Educational Philosophy and Theory. Her areas of expertise include global studies in education, moral and civic education, and educational theory.
Dr. Jae Park
Jae Park serves as the Past-President of the Comparative Education Society of Hong Kong (2014-2015) and as the Head of the International Education Research Group in the Centre for Lifelong Learning Research and Development of the Education University of Hong Kong. He published in Educational Philosophy and Theory, International Studies in Sociology of Education, Comparative Education, and Ethics & Behavior. He is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Comparative Education and Development and an editor of the Encyclopedia of Educational Philosophy and Theory – Springer.
Dr. Akiyoshi Yonezawa
Dr. Akiyoshi Yonezawa is Professor and Director, Office of Institutional Research, Tohoku University, Japan. With a background in sociology, he mainly conducts research on comparative higher education policy – especially focusing on world-class universities, internationalization of higher education, and public-private relationships in higher education.

A) Conference Themes
The Conference will be organised around four themes:
1) Equity and basic schooling in Asia;
2) Higher education in Asia: the local and the global;
3) Education and social change; and
4) Comparative education research methods.
Applicants will need to identify the theme they are addressing and submit an abstract of 50-100 words.
B) Submission deadline, links and presentation information
In order to enhance the quality of papers, a more rigorous review of paper proposals will be conducted. The revised deadline for submissions is: Friday 17th February, 2017.
Submissions can either be for an individual presentation (with one or more authors) or as part of a panel presentation.
